Through personal experience I would recommend Advent as I have never had any bother with them but as a prevous poster said get as many views as you can before you decide what to buy. Another friend got an Acer laptop from Tesco last year and he has found it is often quite slow and after about a week the speakers started to play up. I bought an Advent laptop about 3 weeks ago and it wasnt anything fancy as I just use it for basic stuff like wireless internet, listening to music and occasional word processing etc and games which it seems to handle quite well and so far it has been working a treat and is really fast and hasn't had any problems. I have friends with other makes of computers such as Packard Bell, Fujitsu Siemens etc anf there always seems to be something going wrong with them.
